HMRC have the right to investigate any taxpayer. An investigation can occur at any time and the cost of dealing with their enquiry can be expensive. HMRC use software to look for anomalies within taxpayer records and follow a complex and lengthy procedure requiring specific evidence and in depth answers. Evidence and answers that are sometimes difficult to provide. It is vital that you have the correct representation and support when dealing with HMRC to make sure you save both time and money.
