Environment

Green Accountancy are uniquely qualified in both accountancy and environmental conservation.  Our work is based on environmental principles in three ways:

  1. We minimise our own environmental impacts.  We recognise that no accountancy firm creates huge pollution, but nonetheless we do our bit to minimise our pollution.  This includes never flying, minimising car use, using waste vegetable oil in our car, producing more solar electricity than electricity we use on an annual basis.
  2. We help and encourage individuals, small businesses, charities and social enterprises to minimise their impacts.  We believe that organisations minimising their environmental impacts benefit with growth, improved efficiency and improved stakeholder relations.  All points that accountants should be able to help achieve.
  3. We are working hard to change the accountancy profession to consider environmental issues as a matter of course.  We have been speakers at a number of national accountancy conferences explaining to accountants why considering the environment is an important part of all advice to small organisations.

We want to help and encourage you to reduce environmental impacts, particularly carbon pollution.  We believe that if small organisations reduce their carbon pollution, they will also be reducing their negative impacts on the environment in terms of other pollution, habitat destruction and over exploitation of resources.

This section of our website contains over twenty web pages containing information about environmental issues facing small businesses, charities and social enterprises.  We hope that you find this information useful.  Please do ask us questions and let us know your comments about environmental impacts of small organisations.
